Thank you so much for all the help you´re giving to us.  CITIZENS CLAIM AGAINST EXTREME ANIMAL CRUELTY IN SPAIN I respectfully adress myself to you to let you know about the actions that thousand of internauts from spain andother countries are trying to carry fordward denouncing the extremely cruel feast that takes place  every  2nd tuesday of september in Tordesillas Spain. We feel absolutely powerless and dismayed about the "tourney" that is going to take place at TORDESILLAS tomorrow, Tuesday 11 of september at 11h, called the TORO DE LA VEGA, in wich extremely cruelty with animals take place under the autorization of local and national governement covered by "tradition" or what they call "culture" despite repeated complaints for years of different institutions, public figures of culture, art and politics,  mass media and thousands of citizens. Thats for we wrote the attached citizens manifesto (also added following this text) and are working to get all our europarlament representants and mass media all over the world aware of this horrible and legaly approved crimes that take place in Spain. We beg and urge all our representants to take a part to stop this brutallity and suspend the 2013 feast. CITIZENS CLAIM AND MANIFESTO AGAINST TORO DE LA VEGA, SPAIN September , 2013 To the Spanish President D Mariano Rajoy Brey, The Public Defender Mrs Soledad Becerril, all our Governors and Members of Parliament, The President of our Senate and all MEPs. We truely believe that a civilised society is one that addresses the ethical concerns of its citizens as is its duty. We turn to you, our political leaders, as a matter of urgency because we have exhausted all other avenues. We have not been listened by Tordesillas despite pleas from thousands and thousands of spanish citizens and citizens for at least 15 other countries. We appeal to you to intercede for us and speak on our behalf to get to suspend the "Toro de la Vega  Fiesta" which is due to take place on september 17th,  at 11 am and during which a bull is harassed and stabbed with spears by more than 100 men on horseback and on-feet untill he agonizes.  Finally, without even waiting that the bull is dead, his testicles and tail are severed and exhibited by “the winner of the tourney” as part of this Medieval Fiesta which is held in Tordesillas, in the Province of Valladolid. Filming the Toro de la Vega  “tourney” is also extremely complicated because Tordesillas people even get to attack and threaten press reporters and anyone who wants to protests and  inform about their tradition. Even Tordesillas´citizens are threatened if they express their disagreement about this so called “celebration”. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWByGovT2dQ&feature=fvst Last year we also asked for the transfer of the Bull 'Volante' from the herd "el Ventorillo" to be taken to a Sanctuary Farmhouse where he can live in peace with the needs of his species fully met and be visited there by the Public as as a living symbol of the culture of peace and respect for life we need, want and demand from our leaders. In Exchange, we offered Tordesillas on a certifícate ordinry mail, our economic support through crowdfunding (lead by more than 3000 persons)  for them to organize alternative cultural, educational or social activities in the city  instead of “Toro de la Vega”.  Our pledge was silenced and dismissed. THE MAYOR DID´NT EVEN ANSWER US, AS IS ITS DUTY, TO THE A CERTIFICATE LETTER ADRESSED TO HIM. So, we do not ask nor offer anything like that this any more this year because we really feel powerless hopeless, and higly disappointed by our democratic leaders and means and do not believe anymore in any good will from  the people of Tordesillas. Thus, we beg you  once again this year to take action and intercede for us. I urge you not to consider this application as a minor matter because it really represents the feelings and thoughts of the vast majority of Spanish citizens and thousands of people from outside our borders who are waiting to see what will happen in Tordesillas. We are thousands of people from the Spanish Nation and from many other places in the world who cannot understand or share any more in any way a tradition, “art” or culture, involving the suffering and death of a sientient being. We consider this absolutely immoral, and we are appalled, shocked and helpless before this "celebration".  BUT APPARENTLY ALMOST NONE POLITICAL LEADER  IS DOING ANYTHING TO INTERCEDE FOR US AND STOP THOSE HORRIFIC CRIMES. In fact, European Union has also a high responsability of them because of the exceptions included in the animal welfare laws and also because of the european funds that are being spent on bullfighting cattle farms. We, thousands of citizens from SPIAN, the U.E and other countries, consider  all those traditions as part of a past and that they are perpetuated thanks to public funds because of illegitimate private interests and emotional and symbolic roots that do not leave a path to the right channel of empathy and compassion these are universal fundamental qualities that distinguish extol and dignify all humans and should be considered basic for the common future of humanity.
